From the time Pon Manickavel was SP, DIG to IG, there was no corruption or punishment in his job. He is known in the society as an honest officer with a conscience.
Moreover, many scams came to light only after he joined the Tamil Nadu idol smuggling unit. The idols were also brought from abroad. Such honest officers are the only ones who file such cases in the police and ordinary people like us, can we all manage? I can see this as a pain.
Is it because the CBI is investigating him and he is at fault? Isn’t it? I’ll know that after I say it. However, the case has been registered in the Madurai bench of the High Court. The case was registered against him by DSP Khader Badshah.
He and IG Pon Manickavel have a motive. It is reported that Pon Manickavel is somehow trying to become a criminal in the police department. Because if the culprit of idol smuggling points the finger at anyone, he is guilty. It’s a complicated case.
However, Pon Manickavel’s merits, his personal performances, should be the main purpose of this case. Also, the court should not take what the accused say here. They even say he gave money. Because the police circle is trying to take revenge on him.
Moreover, IG Pon Manickavel continues to do good things, good deeds and divine works even after retirement. Someone who smuggles an idol and lives on that income will definitely not do all this work. The crowd will be different. Therefore, it is the court that should save him.
Also, the Madurai Sessions High Court granting bail to Pon Manickavel is very welcome. So, the judiciary will have to look at his integrity in this case. There is no dissenting opinion on that. When he’s at work, what are his behaviors? His behaviour after retirement? This should be the main face of this case.
Not only that, what was the motive for DSP Kader Pasha to file a case against him? That should also be the main point in this case. What is the connection between Kader Pasha and idol smuggler Subhash Kapoor? Activists say the court should look at all this.
