In the three years (2020 to 2023), about Rs 114 crore was looted in the rooms allotted to MPs, legislators, IAS, IPS and judges to stay in the state guest house at a nominal rent?
The robbery of a guest house in the country has shocked the public.
The State Guest House in Chennai, the Tamil Nadu Guest House in Udhagamandalam and the Tamil Nadu Guest House in New Delhi are the three Guest Houses in which senior officials of the Legislative Assembly, IAS, IPS and Judges are staying there. Rooms are usually provided at a nominal rent in the guest house created for such accommodation. Did they pay rent? Or did they stay without paying rent? The question has arisen for the public.
This is because, according to officials, even the state guest house in the district charges a lower rent. If that is the case, how is it that such a big scam has taken place? The public is shocked by this. Besides, what did they stay for? What does this benefit people? Nothing at all.
Even worse, this guest house has been used even during the Corona period. The total cost of staying in the guest house in three years is about Rs 114 crore in the RTI data.

“In this government, they have spent around Rs 2 crore on water. Let’s have an R.O. plant. The telephone bill is 2.5 lakhs, the hospitality cost is more than 1 crore, the cost of buying goods is 5.5 lakhs, the room where the rent has been rented i.e. about 16 lakhs in the private house. Chennai, Ooty, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Pondicherry guest houses have spent about 114 crores in three years.
How has the government managed to mitigate these accounts? Did the censors take bribes to mitigate it? Is that the main question for the public? Also, what will the DMK government say when it says that there is no money to give +1, +2, lap top, for the education of important students in the country, and there are no important medicines needed for patients in hospitals? Similarly, what will the DMK government say when it says that there is no money to give concessions and advertisements in the field of journalism?
