Is the news sector in the country a department created only for the corporate press for its growth? Should promotions be given only for that? Should they be the only members of the Press Welfare Board? How selfish is all this? It remains to be seen that this is coming from the industry.
The judiciary has to do justice. Today’s journalism, which should be for the people in the interest of society, public welfare and national interest, has become selfish for the rulers. The reason for this is that today the news department in Tamil Nadu is a fraudulent and corrupt department in the name of giving concessions and advertisements according to the law.
Circulation Act Who is it for? For the people? Or for the rulers? With this law, they have divided the daily, weekly and monthly magazines and the concessions and advertisements for each have been separated. That is, 10,000 copies should be printed whether it is a daily, monthly or weekly.
But are those messages neutral? Or is it true? Political nonpartisanship? Or is it a party magazine? Or a business magazine? Or is it an entertainment magazine? Nothing is needed. But circulation is what is needed. It is enough to have four government news and only the news they say is published.
If that is the case, then there should be no concessions and advertisements with the taxpayers’ money. Because how many magazines are there for the people? Giving neutral, authentic news today? Will it be in single digits? That is doubtful. To that extent, this journalism has changed for their own personal gains.
If you give money, we will give you whatever news you want, how you want. If you give concessions and advertisements, whatever the rulers say, we are deceiving the people by putting it as news. This is the nature of the fourth pillar.
They are the only members of the Journalists Welfare Board who are at the pinnacle of power of the press officers. Is journalism on the side of justice? Or on the side of injustice? Today, journalism is functioning without knowing what. Also, if on the one hand is the corruption of the rulers, on the other hand there are the corruption of the capitalists who run this newspaper, on the one hand, how will they publish unbiased and authentic news to the people?
Recently, Devanathan was arrested in connection with the Win TV boss scam. Next, the owner of Dinamalar newspaper has also filed cases against him for grabbing temple land and is going to trial today.
There is still some undisclosed information. Often these corporate press houses have people who are involved in sand looting, there are those involved in liquor scams, there are those who loot in politics. How can those who can run such newspapers and television publish news for the welfare of the society, for the benefit of the nation? It’s up to people to understand that.
The judiciary must take note of this and give a truthful and impartial verdict by the judges. Only then will the newspapers be published with the spirit of service to the country? To this day, we still don’t understand it. How can a corrupt person in politics show himself to be good? The looter will also show himself to be good. A person who fights for social welfare also shows himself to be good. Who’s real here?
None of this is known to the media officials of the central and state governments. All they know is the commission, not the social welfare and the national interest. How difficult it would be for ordinary people like us to run a newspaper? They don’t even understand that.
They don’t look at the quality, merit or quality of a magazine. How many real and unbiased messages are there for people on those pages? I don’t even know how to see that. If there are four government messages, they will cut it and send it to the District Collector and the Collector. If the media is in this sense, what good can it do to the people?
No matter how much the rulers and political parties lie, it is not a great skill to fill the pages and photos of the news and deceive the people in the name of a newspaper. Similarly, if I am a journalist and a big newspaper and give it a government identity card, there is no use. What purpose is journalism for?
Their party newspapers and party TV channels will be publishing news for their own gains. Take it to your party. When you take it to innocent people, no matter how much you lie, they will be deceived by reading it. They will also apply the Circulation Act and give these offers and advertisements.
Similarly, business magazines, entertainment magazines, copy-paste magazines, all these are ruining the journalism industry in the name of journalism today. Here one is the one who works and one is the deceiver. What political party is this? Let’s talk anyway. You can write it anyway. Only the court can put an end to this.
Competent and honest judges should investigate the truth and bring the newspaper websites into circulation according to the times of concessions and advertisements that the rulers and media officials refuse to give in the interest of society and the nation.
