The Central and State Governments have been giving crores of people’s tax money to corporate company newspapers for 50 years by laying down wrong rules and only for its development. It is against freedom of press. People have freedom of press.

It is operating under political, governmental and power independence control. If only the magazines he wants to offer, advertisements, how to conduct other magazines? Only few newspapers in the country have to pay crores of advertisements to keep them alive.

What is the purpose of the news industry to highlight only them in the field of journalism? Is this a government policy decision? Or the policy decision of the news department? Or the policy decision of the rulers? Or the policy decision of the constitution? On the basis of which decision, the news industry is honestly offering preferential advertisements to these newspapers? This is people’s tax money.

How about that? Have they given degrees to only a few? Is this a political maneuver? No, the biggest scam going on in this? What is If the CBI investigates this, these facts will come out. Otherwise, a norm has been imposed on periodicals which did not exist during MGR, Jayalalitha and Karunanidhi era. They do not have any advertisement or offer.

However, the rules they have set for issuing government ID cards look like the rules set by corporate company magazines. Maybe the news department asked them? Or did they do as they were told? It should have been both. RNI is given by Central Govt.

But does the state government have the right to issue an alternative ordinance? Isn’t it? Is this legal? Not valid? On what basis is this law enacted? Is this decree published? One law for the poor, one law for the rich is this the law of journalism? Legal experts laugh. Newspapers fighting for social justice in the country can be counted on the fingers.

If you choose such magazines and give concessions and advertisements, how helpful it will be for the progress of the people of the country. But only for the media that support their scandals. How can I accept offers and promotions? Thus, crores of people’s tax money is being wasted by the government. Do news officials know this fact about it?

Why not know? If you are sitting on that seat and talking about your position and powers, how will you get a solution to the problems that are struggling in the society, the problems of the poor and the middle class, and the people who are struggling to get the rights of the government? Besides, even government employees are deprived of their rights. The situation is the same for them. There is no alternative opinion that only if the CBI investigates this, the corruption of this magazine will come to light.

(Social activist, lawyer, former CBI officer Varadarajan, his commentary on current press and television.)

Also, only certain newspapers are benefiting from the press regulations of the central & state government. What is a big advantage in this is that even for issuance of government identity card (RNI) registration for periodicals must be done in Chennai only. They should publish in Chennai only. We will issue government ID card to such people only. If so, for whom is the magazine? Politicians? Rulers? People? For whom? The news department officials should clarify that.

Also, is it press freedom? No, their political power is independent? Next, news department editors and journalists who can work in daily newspapers can be given government identity cards even if they are over 60 years old. However, these people are 60 years old but they are not eligible to apply for that identity card. What are these government employees? How will these periodicals be run and published?

Also, I have been publishing these news about this for five years continuously. But, till now the news department has not taken any action in this regard. Besides, publishers who run periodicals, at least 50 to 100 people will see these messages and copy them. I think they didn’t put it either. If so, how can rights to these magazines be obtained?

Here in daily newspapers party related, business related, unworthy, concessions, advertisements for all are given bus pass. But no concessions are given to deserving people and deserving journals. This is what the court should emphasize to the media officials of the central and state governments.

Most of its PROs come from political backgrounds. They know nothing about the legal intricacies of journalism. What a politician knows, that’s what it looks like. So, if they get a ticket in the bus or train, they sit like happy passengers. If you ask them or the journalists of this corporate magazine to run a magazine, then you will know. What is their talent, qualification and the agony of that pain? They will know that.

So, about this, even yesterday I spoke to some Assistant Directors of Press. One of them stood up. They could not ignore these facts. But to come to this field, I have taken the facts of this. It is my opinion that it will not make the next generations aware about this journalism industry. Also, only if the CBI investigates all the concessions and advertisements given through such unnecessary regulations and wrong regulations in this sector, social justice will be achieved in the journalism sector, it is the demand of journalists and journalists fighting for social welfare.
