Increasing political interference in judiciary tarnishes integrity of judiciary: Senior lawyers write to CJI By PTI .
It has been many years since press freedom was eroded in the country. Senior lawyers are worried that the independence of the judiciary will also be taken away due to political interference. Even my senior advocate Muthusamy has said that there is a lot of political interference in the court.
“One section of politicians and lawyers in the Supreme Court is blaming the BJP and the other blaming the Congress. This incident shows that the judiciary has been put in a very bad situation. “It is the duty of Chief Justice Chandra Sood to protect it.
The time has come for both the judiciary and the press to introspect. The reason for this is that all the people who can do kattapanchayat are lawyers. Similarly, those who are not fit for journalism call themselves big journalists. Neither of these is acceptable. Those who don’t even know how to send a message are called reporters.
Lawyers who don’t have social concerns think only of money. They don’t care which way the money is coming in. What if it was corrupt money? What if the robber was money? They need money. Whether it’s a thief or a robber, their job is to speak for them. This is a problem in society. But, even if he is proved to be corrupt in politics. The job of these lawyers is to compromise the judges to show them favor. If you go to this job, the looters are asking for any number of crores to be given and they are innocent.
In the same way, what are the legal clauses in which a case can be filed? What is the scope of that law? I don’t know anything. Those who wear coats and pretend that I am a lawyer are doing pickup work for senior lawyers, doing kattapanchayat, working as brokers, stickers on vehicles and cheating the public.
Journalists are all working as brokers for political parties, second tier political party leaders, letter pad parties. They are deceiving the public by claiming to be the ones who give their lives for social justice, fight against corruption and injustice in the country. Especially the illiterate communities, the lower castes, the Vanniyar community, the tribal people, all of them are given advice as advisors, according to the person and think that they are advisors. Journalism is being disgraced like this.
Also, the District Magistrate examination held today was tampered with and it has also been reconsidered. This is also political interference. In every state, when ministers and chief ministers of their respective states are caught in corruption, lawyers use their influence to put pressure on indirect judges in the court to save them.
In whatever way they can reach out to whom. Close to that level, they are looking at the work of bending the law to bring out corrupt ministers, MLAs and political parties through loopholes in the law.
But even if they loot thousands and 500 crores, the court gives them a favour. This is a danger to a large democracy. What is the impact of this on the people of the country? No one thinks about that.
Moreover, the case of Minister Ponmudi in Tamil Nadu, the case of Senthil Balaji, the arrest of Chief Minister Kejriwal in Delhi, and in every state, corrupt ministers, MLAs, and the judiciary are under pressure through lawyers to seek their desired advantage in the judiciary.
These lawyers are not fighting for justice, they are selling the law for money. They are moving from state to state, from state to state, with political clout and money power, which will bring disrepute and threat to the judiciary. Moreover, the life of the people is a struggle, and today social activists are facing various cases in the court for justice. It’s unnecessary work.
On behalf of makkal adhikaram magazine and the Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Journalists Federation, it is our humble request that if the judiciary is engaged in bending the law to the political parties and rulers, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court should protect the dignity of the court without political interference, protect the law of the people and put an end to the culture of corruption.
