National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate for Tirupur Lok Sabha constituency Karuppu Muruganantham has promised to take Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welfare schemes directly to the beneficiaries and collect votes.

The Election Commission has instructed political parties to end their campaigning by 6 pm today. The Election Commission will file a case against political parties if they campaign beyond that.

Moreover, political parties have to abide by the election rules and it is customary for political parties to give money for votes in various places. The Election Commission should monitor it more quickly and take action. Or, action should be taken against that political party in that place. Getting votes with money is not a democratic election and the Election Commission should never allow it.

Apart from this, bogus voting is the art of DMK. The Election Commission should conduct a serious consultation on how to monitor and take action. The reason for this is that on one side there is the sun and on the other side the rich do not come and vote in this heat. It is the poor and the middle class who are casting their votes. Therefore, the votes of rich people are more likely to be cast as bogus votes in cities including Chennai.

Every booth agent and polling booth should be monitored with CCTV cameras. Not only should there be surveillance, but also a monitoring team should be formed and roamed. People should vote freely. The Election Commission should take all steps for that. Besides, when people are voting for a party, the DMK thinks that it has to stop it somehow, there is a possibility of bullying and rowdyism. The Election Commission and the police should constitute an election monitoring committee to prevent such incidents from happening.

Moreover, without proper reporting from the news department, election journalists did not issue government identity cards to eligible newspapers. Therefore, the Federation of Social Welfare Journalists demanded that the Election Commission should take steps to give recognition to the newspaper identity card and to collect the news.
