Corruption is the main reason for the lack of progress for the working people in the country. From politicians to officials, corruption has become black money in Tamil Nadu and corruption has grown to such an extent that they invest abroad and outside states.
Trichy District Special Court Judge Karthikeyan has sentenced former sub-registrar Janakiraman and his wife to five years imprisonment in a disproportionate assets case. The case was registered by the Trichy district vigilance and anti-corruption police and the investigation of the case has been going on for more than 20 years. The fact that the verdict has just been delivered is a very belated trial and a verdict.
It should be completed within a maximum of one year. What inquiry is there to be conducted? What is his salary? What is the income? What is native property? Is this the basis on which he should account? Janakiraman, who worked as a government official, has assets of about 100 crores. (He worked in Kodaikanal and Wilpatti.) If so, how many crores of assets are the sub-registrars in Tamil Nadu?
Similarly, from the VAO in the revenue department to the tahsildar and the RTO, how many crores are their assets? Similarly, what is the net worth of BDOs across Tamil Nadu? The vigilance department failed to monitor all this. Therefore, the main demand of the people of Tamil Nadu is that the central government should take action in this regard.
The DMK government and Thirumavalavan will be singing about state autonomy in Tamil Nadu. Those who do not know politics will not understand this song. Those who know will understand this, this is what we will do and accumulate wealth. Similarly, if we privatise public sectors, we will not be able to loot. Wealth cannot be accumulated by corruption. This is what they are screaming for.
Modi knew this and privatised some sectors. Apart from this, thousands of crores of rupees are wasted every time this public sector is corrupted and bankrupt and again given the tax money of the people. Similarly, the cooperative sector is a sector that needs to be closely monitored. The biggest corrupt department in the country is the cooperative sector. From cooperative societies to ration shops, this cooperative sector is corrupt till date.
What is the net worth of salesmen who can work in ration shops? Renting a house, a truck, a car, and many other properties have gone into a luxurious life. If this is the case, what is the value of their assets as officials in the cooperative sector? Do you see it now? Not only that, the separatist politics in the country, dividing the state government and the central government and corrupting the people have not benefited the people.
How many BDOs, Panchayat Presidents get commission even under the 100-day work scheme given by the central government? From president to chairperson, what was the value of each of the panchayat presidents before they assumed office? What is the value of the property after arrival? Are there any properties purchased in the name of Benami? The work of making money without working in politics should be monitored by law. Therefore, all these should be investigated by the CBI or the Central Vigilance Department. What is the value of assets of PWD officials and ministers, MLAs and MPs before coming to power? What is the value of the property of forest officials?
If the Central Government’s Vigilance Bureau exposes this scam, why can’t newspapers like us be given concessions, advertisements, bus passes, etc.? Is this commission preventing the growth of ordinary social welfare newspapers for the sake of 30 per cent commission from corporate houses? There is no alternative to the fact that if the Central Intelligence Agency and the Vigilance Department work together to expose corruption, the progress of the working people of the country will increase.
Moreover, for every political project, political parties and their relatives, their cronies and their relatives should not be given any government contracts to implement them. They should all be explicitly open tenders. It should be given to a person on the basis of merit, on the basis of quality, there should be no political interference in this. If there are shortcomings in the quality of work, political parties can ask? But don’t ask for a commission. Through this, corruption can be eliminated. If all these have to be eradicated, the central government should bring in strict laws.
“Since the vigilance department of the state government is favourable to the respective state administration, they cannot eradicate any corruption. So. The central government should set up a strong system to monitor corruption in the country so that corruption can be eliminated in the country.
