Did the police, who are supposed to give legal protection to the people of the country, take the law into their own hands in the matter of Shankar’s arrest? If a man commits any wrong, only the court can punish him according to the law. But has the police taken the law into their own hands? Contempt of court. If so, what is the court for? The police should report that.

Are the rules of the court followed when a person is arrested? If the court does not impose any punishment on the policeman who did not follow the law, then the court will blame him for breaking the law, is the police at fault in this matter? “When a minister is arrested, the police work for him in a way.

But if the common man or the rulers like Savukku Shankar point out their mistakes, is the police acting in a vindictive manner? Besides, when Savukku Shankar is arrested and in police custody, how can he get a bandage on his hand? Did the police beat his arm and break it? Why did you get a bandage on your hand? Moreover, people are struggling with so many problems in the country. Savukku Shankar is just a YouTube speaker and did the police beat him to the extent of putting a bandage on his hand saying that what he said was a crime? This has to be questioned by the Supreme Court.

Also, have they broken his arm for speaking ill of a top police officer? If so, is the police a weapon in the hands of the law? It doesn’t matter if he’s a criminal. Or even if it’s a fighter. If they have broken the arm of an ordinary YouTube speaker for the crime of speaking, do the police not have faith in the law? Or have they taken the law into their own hands? What is the difference between them and rowdies? Whoever gives money will be beaten.

Will they beat the rulers if they say so? If the police, judiciary and the press are not concerned about the welfare of the people, just think for a minute, how many people will be affected? Think about it for a minute. How many people will be struggling?

In such a responsible duty, police officers forget public interest for selfish reasons. Do you think the police have arrested the biggest criminal in the country?

Therefore, organizations like Hindu Munnani have demanded that the National Human Rights Commission should take suo motu cognizance of the case. Similarly, social activists and the Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Journalists Federation have also demanded.
