Be it the big newspaper channels in Tamil Nadu or foreign companies like the BBC, they are mouthpieces who blow politics with political parties. Because only then will they get crores of offers and advertisements from the government. The indirect politics of these corporate media is to deceive the people by paying a cover for how much the rulers and political parties lie.
The bosses of the company that runs it don’t know much about newspapers and television. The newspaper editors, television editors and reporters who work in it are all hired heart attack crowds, even if they get big salaries. There’s no denying that it’s not. They are determined not to give concessions and advertisements to newspapers like us. If we do, they will compete with us.
The world of journalism is a competitive world. We are now competing with the corporate media. If they are given concessions and advertisements, they will have to compete with social media. This is the kind of politics that runs in the world of journalism. Politics is not for the people, even if it is for the rulers and the political party, these corporate media, which listens to whatever they say, has been selfish in developing themselves so far.
There is no point in saying that such a newspaper and television is a big magazine. What kind of corruption has been unearthed by these big newspapers and television channels in the country? Or what politics have they made people understand? It’s too much to fool people. But there are very few magazines like ours that come in the form of a writer struggling in society with social thinking. Officials and these people are determined not to give these promotional advertisements.
Recently I met the Director of the Information Department and the Secretary of the Department of Communication. The director says one word, I will do whatever you need to buy. I give. This is the word of politicians. I don’t believe in this. But the secretary told me some facts, I think something should be done for all of you. But what he said was, without circulation, how do we advertise? Yes, I agreed.
This circulation is money, I said. If there is money, circulation. We don’t have that much money. And are their circulations with their own money? Or the taxpayers’ money? Circulation of taxpayers’ money is not a big deal. Tell them to show circulation with their own money. How long can they show it? Because they have earned crores of rupees from the taxpayers’ money. So ask them to run a magazine with their own money for more than 10 years and show circulation in it.
Let’s see how many people show up? Moreover, they have a strong political background to all this. That is why Stalin did not even include him as a member of the Journalists Welfare Board. The world of journalism and corporate journalism will have to answer for this. I have discussed this with the judge. I have also discussed it with our lawyer. I can’t tell you everything here. Therefore, if the media and the central government and the state government take this issue to the court, the solution will be justice.
Despite publishing these stories for more than five years, no action has been taken by the news department. Our correspondent will say from Theni I will also tell you about this, except makkaladhikaram, no other newspaper publishes this story. I have been publishing this news for more than 6 years. If they knew, they would do it. So, like the story of the blind man rubbing the elephant, the corporate press and the television media have created a fake image in Tamil Nadu till date that what we say is journalism. Will the people, the press world, the central and state government’s information departments understand this?
