Take the law as a weapon and give the verdict,” Justice Sundaresh said in Erode.
Justice M.M. Sundresh of the Supreme Court, who presided over the inauguration of the Kodumudi Sub Court, Elumathur District Munsif and Magistrate Court in Erode district and the renovated Tribunal Court building at Perundurai was held at the Erode Collectorate through video conferencing.
New courts are being created so that people get speedy judgments. Judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts are referred to as ‘Judges’ by them. Our aim is to protect the Dharma.
The legislature and the court are completely different. When my father, senior advocate Muthusamy and others requested the government to set up a district court in Erode, the Law Minister refused. They explained the need for a court by providing statistics of crime cases and other cases in the Erode area. “The need for a district court in the land of EVR’s birth will be considered,” he said.
Chief Minister Annadurai said, “Injuries should be justified; Justices should not be hurt,” he said, adding that I will still tell lawyers and judges and explain the truth of it. Take the law as a weapon and pass judgment impartially.
Only then will the court get recognition and confidence. It’s good that the courts are new. But it has to go towards the people. Thus he spoke.
Acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court Justice Krishna Kumar, Justices Anitha Sumanth, Sathish Kumar and Kumaresh Babu were also present.
