Fake NCC for private school girls While the National Commission for Women (NCW) has initiated a suo motu inquiry into the sexual harassment case, the director of private schools has been changed.

The girls of a private school in Kandikuppam near Bargur in Krishnagiri district have been given NCC admissions. At least 12 people have been arrested in connection with the sexual harassment of Sivaraman. As many as 13 students have complained of being victimised in the matter.

What happened in this situation? On behalf of the Directorate of Private Schools, a report has been submitted to Madhumathi, Principal Secretary, School Education Department. Sources in the education department said that the investigation into the matter will be intensified.

Sources in the private school director said that since the incident could not have happened without the knowledge of the school concerned, steps including cancellation of the school’s recognition are likely to be taken.

Subsequently, the fake NCC The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognizance of a media report titled ’13 Girls Sexually Assaulted in the Camp’.

The commission has directed the Chennai DGP to register cases against the accused under appropriate laws and ensure a fair trial. A detailed action plan has been sought from the police and the state government within three days.

The school will reopen today as per the orders of the District Collector. The affected students will be given counselling by four teachers. However, the police have requested to postpone the opening of the school due to the law and order problem.

As a result, the school which was scheduled to open today has not been opened. District education department officials said that the reopening of schools will be announced later. Schools have been closed for the third consecutive day.

The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has transferred 57 District Educational Officers (DEOs) of 14 private schools and the remaining 43 District Educational Officers (DEOs) of Primary and Secondary Schools.

Ramavathi, who was the director of private schools in Krishnagiri district, has been transferred.
