The District Collectors and Block Development Officers have been instructed to conduct Grama Sabha meetings in all the Village Panchayats throughout Tamil Nadu on Independence Day .
Further, what are the rules to be followed by the Grama Sabha meeting without holding a large scale Grama Sabha meeting? In the Grama Sabha meeting, the Director of Panchayats Ponniah gave the following rules.
The rules to be followed in the Grama Sabha meeting are as follows:-
1. Funds allocated to the village! People should be properly informed. 2023 – 2024 and 2024- 2025 Notices should be made known to the people through flex banners in the panchayat office.
If that doesn’t happen, the authorities should complain. Complaint number has been given.
2. In a village of 500 people, more than 100 people should attend the Grama Sabha meeting. People have the right to stop the crowd if there is less.
3. All youth over the age of 18 should attend. A constructive resolution should be passed for the development of the village.
4. People have the right to complain to the District Collector if the Gram Sabha meeting is not held even if the Gram Sabha is not known till any minute in your Panchayat.

5. The Block Development Officer should ensure the participation of people in the Grama Sabha meeting.
6. If the Grama Sabha does not inform the Panchayat President in advance, strict action will be taken against the Panchayat Secretary.
7. It should be conducted by rotation only in the wards of the Village Panchayat.
8. If the public complains to the District Collector about the Grama Sabha, the power of the President of the Panchayat and the Panchayat Secretary will be taken away.
9. The decision of the villagers cannot be rejected by the Panchayat President or the Officer. The decision is right or wrong Only the court has the power to decide. You have to know this and act.
10. The Block Development Officer should ensure that the Village Administrative Officer and Village Assistant devotees attend the Grama Sabha meetings.
11. The resolution of the villagers cannot be rejected by the Panchayat President or the Officer. The decision is right or wrong Only the court has the power to decide. I urge you to know this and act.
12. Complain to the Block Development Officer and District Collector against the Panchayat President for not conducting the Grama Sabha meeting by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
13. Tamil Nadu Police officials will ensure that Grama Sabha meetings are held.
14. If the Grama Sabha meeting is not held, complaints can be made immediately by contacting the following numbers. Action will be taken immediately.
