People’s Power is a magazine and website that has brought to the notice of the Government the plight of Village Panchayats on a large scale. Moreover, frauds in panchayats are intolerable.
Is it their job to have social activists, well-wishers of the village in every village arguing cases in the courts? What are these officers for? What are they doing? If such cases continue to be filed by the public and social activists for all these scams! First of all, what is the BDO doing there? What is the Collector doing beyond that? On top of that, what is the Assistant Director of Panchayat and District Project Management Director of that district doing? Are so many officials complicit in this scam?
How long is one in the present era? Why should he leave all his jobs and come in public interest and file such a complaint and listen to all these scams? These salaried people don’t care. But what is the need for activists to fight without expecting any benefit for them? Therefore, such scams and complaints should be dealt with appropriately. If not, the court will have to recover the compensation from them. Only then can this corruption be put to an end.
This is not a panchayat scam in Karur and Aravakurichi alone, 99 out of 100 villages in Tamil Nadu are at this level. The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has announced the Mahatma Gandhi 100-day work programme across Tamil Nadu. How many crores have they looted? All this problem can be put to an end if the Madurai High Court Judicial Government issues a Government Order to recover the money from the Panchayat Presidents in the respective Panchayats where corruption has taken place throughout Tamil Nadu. besides
North Country workers to plant in agriculture.
Due to this scheme, agriculture has been destroyed and farmers are struggling without people to cultivate the land. On the other hand, the government is wasting thousands of crores of taxpayers’ money across the country by making them sit and pay their salaries. If the central government makes an alternative arrangement, these opposition parties will do politics by blaming them for votes. Further, the Madurai Bench of the High Court,
The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has expressed anguish over the use of the 100-day work scheme by most of the panchayat presidents in Aravakurichi village panchayat in Karur.
According to activists, instead of sharing the 100-day work programme with government officials and panchayat presidents, if the money is invested in industries, it will be a priority for the development of the country and employment opportunities for millions of educated youth. But the political parties who do politics for votes, the opposition parties will be doing politics by blaming the central government.
Therefore, if the Central Government inspects these irregularities throughout Tamil Nadu, properly audits these accounts and orders the Madurai Bench of the High Court to take immediate action against the erring Panchayat Presidents, these irregularities can be put to an end.
Moreover, as you said, it is surprising that the name Mahatma is being misused. There is no proper monitoring of the implementation of the scheme from the officials to the officials. Justice Raja said that they are not aware of their responsibility and have ordered the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, Tamil Nadu Rural Development Secretary and Karur District Collector to respond. Activists have demanded that the auditors of the central government should visit and audit these accounts.
