Central- Through the Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Journalists Federation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been asked to change the state government’s wrong press rules and give importance to socially oriented journalism. An email letter has been sent.
In Having worked in the field of journalism for more than 30 years, I have been the editor and publisher of the website and print-media of people’s authority. Moreover, there are many news and articles on these journals. For five consecutive years in our website and newspaper, it has brought to the notice of the top officials of the Central and State Governments that the tax money of crores of people is being wasted annually due to wrong regulations to the Central and State Governments, but so far no action has been taken.
Moreover, the central government has changed many laws to suit the times. Similarly, it became necessary to change the rules of the press according to the times. For fifty years in a row, the rule of circulation has been in favour of this corporate press and television. It should be changed to divide the quality of newspapers and television channels and accordingly give concessional advertisements to newspapers.
Apart from this, the political party-based newspapers also say that due to this circular rule, the tax money of crores of people is being given to it in a wrong manner. Similarly, it is given for business purposes. However, socially-oriented newspapers have not received any offers or advertisements so far.
Moreover, the news published on the website, irrespective of the daily, weekly or monthly magazine, should be given importance to the respective newspapers based on its quality. Besides, the circulation at present is a deception with the press. Circulation has declined in all the magazines and therefore, it is constantly enjoying the offer and advertisements by using these wrong terms to keep the circulation.
Moreover, now the visitors of the website of the newspapers have to bring it into circulation. It should be given importance. Now that everything is disappearing digitally, we need to give importance to this and give you incentives and advertisements. It should be brought in across the country as a single rule instead of the central and state governments working on separate rules.
Not only that In Tamil Nadu, they say that the government will issue identity cards only to the periodicals purchased by the RNI in Chennai. How much is it Big mistake? Central government Is it giving one RNI to Chennai, one RNI to the districts? It is being implemented by the State Governments. Moreover, it made a mockery of the freedom of the press. They’re coming. So,
Just as the Central Government has brought the RNI under its control over the Registration Act, so this concession and advertisements should also be brought under the control of the Central Government. The funds should not be given under the control of the state government but under the control of the central government. Then the wrong policy of the state government can avoid giving concessions and advertisements only to its own newspapers.
Moreover, the tax money of the people can be avoided by the governments of thousands of crores of rupees for this in the states. Therefore, I request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to examine this news seriously and take action. The Association of Social Welfare Journalists has conveyed its request to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
