The Madras High Court has struck down Section 77A of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, which allows the District Registrar of Deeds to cancel the registration of bogus deeds in the state.
This is because it takes years to take a fake deed to court and meet lawyers to get it quashed. In the meantime, there are many problems on both sides. On the one hand, there can be loss of life and on the other hand, there can be fights.
Moreover, many lawyers take time to delay and take money from both sides, so it takes years for justice to be done. The public says we are the ones who suffer.
The High Court considered this and brought this law for the welfare of the people. The public has been upset by its cancellation.
