Voters and the Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Journalists Federation say that without the Election Commission changing the election rules, it is not possible to elect honest elections, elections for social welfare and those who can work for the people.
People’s Power magazine has been publishing news about this many times on the website and in newspapers. But the Election Commission doesn’t care. Now there is a lot of criticism among the people. What is the reason for this? Political elections are the choice of the people of the country for the public interest, for the benefit of the people of the country, for the economic development, security, schemes and social welfare of the country.
The Election Commission has been repeatedly told in the People’s Power that it is useless for political parties to give money and free goods to voters and announce free schemes. There is no benefit to the people by holding elections for duty here.
Similarly, it is unnecessary for the country to take money from political parties and give voting rights to those who vote without making them aware. Political parties and the public continue to complain that eligible voters have been deleted from the electoral rolls and complaints of bogus votes. The public also complained that they were falling to another logo. There are also complaints that the light of the voting machine does not turn on when the button is pressed.
Not only that, there are reports that the DMK has given money to voters even before the election announcement. How’s that? They pay off the bank loans of women self-help groups and give them money for votes. Similarly, the opposition parties complain that money is being given as if they are going door-to-door to verify voters. The Election Commission ignores such irregularities and conducts elections for duty.
Apart from this, the newspapers and journalists allege that the DA-TA, i.e. voting percentage, is wrong. This means that the initial voting percentage was 72 per cent, which was given by the Election Commission at the time of voting after 6 pm on the same day, then 62 percent. You have to check and give. It doesn’t matter if it’s late. Giving should be a correct statistic.
Moreover, those who came to Chennai for work did not get a bus at the Kilambakkam bus stand and made them wait the whole night to go to the village to cast their vote. How painful must those people have been? All of them have slammed the DMK regime and the rulers. How long would they have toiled there with their babies in this heat? We have to realize that. Such irresponsible elections, elections for duty, and even more so can be left unheld.
Apart from this, who will be re-elected by political parties, who will sell and bid for votes with more money, can only give corrupt governance. Honest governance cannot be given. The Election Commission is complicit in bringing back this corrupt regime to the people. On behalf of the entire Indian electorate and on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Journalists’ Federation, I record this opinion that the Election Commission has a great democratic duty to rectify all this.
Therefore, the Election Commission should bring strict laws in the election rules. I have repeatedly stressed that voters should be able to cast their votes online on devices such as mobile phones and laptops and computers to make it easier for them to vote. Thus, people will not have to stand in the sun to vote. You can’t vote fraudulently. No one else can put my fingerprint. No one can use my Aadhaar number and Electoral Identity Card number.
I can’t use it for someone else without my permission. It can bring this election rule only for educated voters. Because political parties will sell the votes of the uneducated for money. Therefore, the Election Commission should change the rules for the right of politically, thinking and educated people to vote. In any case, public awareness about elections is a must.
No matter how many crores are spent and taken to the people, it will be good for the country and social welfare. It is against the social good that people are repeatedly electing corrupt parties and corrupt people without knowing politics and selling their voting rights.
If the Election Commission takes steps to prevent this, it is certain that the political change that the people want can be brought about. Otherwise, it is futile for the Election Commission of India to spend thousands of crores on elections and conduct elections for duty.
