According to a communication officer, there are about 400 newspapers per district in Tamil Nadu. Out of these 400 magazines, how many are printed or published online? How many press releases are news for the people? Real news? Neutral news? Quality news ?eligible news? How many magazines are it publishing?

Besides, today WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, all of which are copy to paste, forward message, newsmakers. We’re also dreaming of journalism. Not only that, those who do not know how to send a single news properly are deceiving the government, the public and the press community that we are also the press and we are the reporter.

More than 90 percent of newspapers that buy RNI and copy to paste something are from daily to seasonal magazines. Apart from this, it is reported that in every district, breaking news is now being put in these WhatsApp groups in every district. There may be truth in that. Or maybe there is ulterior motive.

Whatever? If it is a magazine, one should have news on its website. How many visitors does that website have? That remains to be determined. Or how much is the circulation of its Adsu medium? Whether it is a daily, monthly, weekly or any newspaper, the Press Council of India should formulate a proper plan to regulate the press.

Not only that, but how many are related to social welfare? How many are political parties? How many commercial magazines are there? Whether it is a corporate company or a common man’s magazine, with these rules, the tax money of the people should not be wasted by crores, its quality should be examined and then concessions and advertisements should be given to it. The laws of journalism should be changed according to the times and only then will the journalism industry be reformed.

Otherwise, journalism will not serve social change and social good in the future without its qualifications, prestige and utility for the people.

Therefore, it is an important demand on behalf of People’s Power and Social Welfare Journalists that the Press Council of India should take action on behalf of the Press Council.
