Is it necessary that the Information and Information and Broadcasting Department of the Government of India has brought GST for social welfare newspapers?

Instead of the corporate media in the country, the central and state governments are giving concessions and advertisements to newspapers and television channels based on commercial purpose.

If this social welfare is given to the press, it will be a very important opportunity for the truth to reach the people. makkaladhikaram has brought this to the notice of the Information Department of the Central and State Governments several times.

But the authorities and the rulers are yet to take action on it. There is no social justice here. News about this has also been sent to Tamil Nadu’s current Union Information Minister L. Murugan through email. I have also informed his PA about it. What is it sir, even if we have circulation within two thousand, the website accepts RNI to renew.

Even if we are running our own printing press, GST is not necessary for us. This is because those with a transaction of more than Rs 20 lakh can claim GST, but if it does not exceed Rs 10 lakh, how can they get GST? Next, not a single rupee of publicity or concessions has been given by the central government’s news department. The government did not even issue an identity card.

But this is only GST. If you come under GST, you will have to show the GST account every month. So the cost of auditors, it is a big burden, when running a newspaper is a big difficulty for us, they bring something called GST without giving any concession or publicity and the central government has started the work of destroying these newspapers.

The makkaladhikaram Magazine and the Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Journalists’ Federation have protested against this and request the Central Government through our online message to remove it immediately.
