The main reason why journalism is under criticism today. They are misusing the freedom of the press. This law is being misused. How can you give advertisements to newspapers belonging to a party by keeping a circulation? Crores of taxpayers’ money is being wasted on Dinakaran, our MGR, Murasoli and Dina Thanthi, which is the cymbal of any government.
Now this newspaper has published pro-Pakistan news on the front page. A case of sedition should be filed against it. If he runs a newspaper against this nation with the money that people buy and read with the taxpayers’ money, if we all run the newspaper with a conscience for this society, this nation and sovereignty, if we do not have any privilege or publicity, then what is the press law?
Also, social welfare magazines like ours, we don’t bring Black Money and run a magazine. We are running the newspaper with our own money. How many newspapers are running the magazine on their own earnings?
If they are working for their development by giving crores of rupees of concessions and advertisements by the central and state governments to the newspapers that show circulation in the background of political parties, then the same law enacted in 1947 without giving any political intervention and advertisements to newspapers like us which can present important issues in the people’s forum for the social welfare of the country, national interest and the welfare of the people, is cheating this press industry till date.
Besides, how many visitors do we have on our newspapers and websites today? How many people are watching and how many are reading? Why doesn’t the central and state government’s media departments take this into account? How do you call this social media? People’s Power is a website created in the name of a recognized magazine. We publish breaking news on a daily basis. Today (3.5) there are about 100,000 visitors on both websites.
Why can’t the Information Department of the Central and State Governments give money to such newspapers? Is that our main question? Also, how many government concessions and advertisements have been given to the Hindu newspaper which publishes anti-national news? We have to take it all to the government’s coffers.
