A few years ago, the Madras High Court had ordered the removal of Karuvela trees in Tamil Nadu on the false allegation that the Karuvela tree was depleting the water source. For this reason, the water resources department officials have auctioned the trees worth crores of rupees and the village panchayat presidents and bidders are counting the trees in the village lakes and the timber worth crores is being scammed.
THE WOOD OF THIS OAK TREE IS BLACKENED AND IT IS MADE INTO BLACK GOLD (COAL EXPORTER). There is a lot of politics behind this. Therefore, under the leadership of each District Collector, this auction was sealed. Open should be conducted as tender. Only then the panchayat officials, water resources department officials and forest department officials in the village will not be able to loot in collusion.
The Federation of Social Welfare Journalists urges anyone concerned to take action on this issue which causes joint loot and loss of revenue to the government. There has been a loss.
This is because the Forest Department’s assessment is mistaken and the Water Resources Department officials escape from the loophole of this law. That is, they pay 10,000, 20,000 to the forest officials and get the letter from the concerned joint thieves. That’s the biggest weapon they say in court.
Also, an auction of Rs 50,000, how can they keep cutting trees for more than two years? Moreover, the water resources department officials have to pay for the cutting of thorny plants. No one will bid for it. It is shameful that the Tamil Nadu government is running an administration without even knowing this.
The villagers of Vidayur say that if a committee headed by Tiruvallur District Collector Prabhu Shankar is formed to investigate the matter directly in the village, the culprits will definitely be caught.
