The Kancheepuram Central Co-operative Bank’s more than 12 crore scam was published without any intention and without any expectation.

However, Regional Director A.K. Sivamalar has issued a legal notice to the editor and the editor of Makkal Adhikaram seeking a compensation of one crore. Our senior High Court lawyer Muthusamy has responded to this.

Also, how did the corruption happen in the bank? Varalakshmi, a deputy manager of the same Kancheepuram Central Co-operative Bank, had given a report with evidence that was published in the Makkal adhikaram newspaper and website.
However, the zonal director A K Sivamalar has sent a notice to me and the newspaper seeking a compensation of Rs one crore.
He has done this in a way that is an insult to the press. Varalakshmi, the deputy manager of the bank, has given this news in an interview to several TV channels and newspapers.

The same story was published by Nakkeeran newspaper. Apart from this, several private TV channels reported the news. If the bank had been properly audited, the scam would have come to light. But how will the corruption come out if those who don’t know about auditing and those who want them are audited?

Varalakshmi has filed a case in the Madras High Court against the bank’s deputy manager Varalakshmi A K Sivamalar in connection with the allegations.

The trial of the case is also underway. So, what is the truth is going to come out in the trial?
So, how much corruption has Kancheepuram regional director A K Sivamalar done? It will be obvious then. Moreover, issuing notices to the newspapers that published the news and demanding compensation is to cover up the corruption perpetrated?

Besides, I told my relatives about it. The only answer they gave was, You wouldn’t have made even a million in this magazine. A million damages? They laughed heartily.

Because! This newspaper is run for the benefit of the society and the nation. This is not for business or political gain. Truth will always win!
